Making an Impact on the Field and In the Classroom

an Interview with Tim Mellon

Tim Mellon Is a great paraeducator and an even better lacrosse coach.  Tim, being a coach and teacher, always tries to bring out the best in his players and his students. His friendly personality is right on the surface as he almost always has a smile on his face.  That being said, he does know when it is time to be serious out on the field or in the classroom. Tim has been a paraeducator here at Souhegan for a few years helping to teach disabled students. He has had a lot of success in this field and has said that he really enjoys his work. He also brings his passion for teaching out on the field as an assistant varsity coach and a head  junior varsity coach. He pushes all of his players to be the best they can be and in doing so he pushes himself to be the best he can be saying that ,“There is always more for me to do to improve as a coach...”

Tim has been passionate about lacrosse since he was a little.  He grew up playing and watching lacrosse grow as a sport. There was a time where Tim was not thinking about coaching lacrosse and teaching as a profession. He originally wanted to go into law enforcement as a career but changed his mind in college. He decided he wanted to become a paraeducator and then later became a lacrosse coach because of his experience from playing.  Lacrosse was first becoming popular when he was younger and in college . Now he is able to inspire tons of young and aspiring lacrosse players since the sport has become so popular.  Tim always likes to keep his team together and Tim likes them to have a great chemistry saying that, “ The chemistry on the team is great.”

As you can see Tim is a very dedicated lacrosse coach That is always trying to improve as a coach, teacher. and as a person. Tim also tries to help kids see their potential and pushes them to strive to do better as an athlete and a person. Having them help out people who are struggling on the field and/or in the classroom. Overall Tim tries to be the best role model he can be for the young students of Souhegan.
